About this build
The Ministry of Silly Walks - one of the most recognisable pieces of physical comedy in the British television canon. First broadcast in 1970, written by and starring John Cleese as a bowler-hatted civil servant whose entire professional function is the funding and development of increasingly impractical methods of forward locomotion.
The pose is the obvious appeal as a LEGO subject. A figure mid-stride, one leg thrown at an impossible angle, is a structural problem as much as a design one. LEGO figures are generally static; getting something that reads as motion without becoming top-heavy required careful consideration of where the weight sits and how the leg geometry can be made stable without a visible support structure.
The bowler hat, briefcase and civil service pinstripe are all present. The pinstripe is the most difficult element at this scale - suggesting it without actually achieving it requires some creative choices about part selection.
